Dig Dogs is owned and run by Sophie Hunt, from her home in Chippenham.
In 2014 she qualified as a dog groomer, training at 'Canine Design Academy of Grooming' which has been voted grooming school of the year. She completed her City and Guilds level 3 with distinctions.
Understanding that dogs are more than just a pet, Sophie wanted to create a calm and relaxing grooming environment, where they could be pampered and enjoy their groom. Somewhere owners would feel confident leaving them, knowing that their welfare was top priority.
With this in mind she converted her garage into a modern grooming salon with the latest equipment, including a jacuzzi spa bath.
She continues to further her knowledge by attending seminars and has completed a canine first aid and CPR course.
Sophie treats every dog as an individual and believes reading the dogs body language is a vital part of grooming, this helps her tailor the experience to one that the dog finds more enjoyable, free from fear.
Sophie is part way through earning a diploma in canine behaviour with the International School of Canine Psychology.
Dig Dogs was named in memory of Sophie's boy Digby, a staffie mix who sadly passed away from kidney failure. He was her loyal companion for 15 loving years and even attended her wedding.
Sophie incorporated his paw print into her logo as a constant reminder of the special bond between a dog and their owner.
